What we collect

When you use Assist ELD, we process the lesson text, images, or files you upload in order to generate scaffolds. We also process student writing samples you submit for diagnostic analysis.

If you create an account, we store your email address and a hashed password. We do not store your name or any other personal information.

What we do not collect

We do not collect or store student names, student IDs, or any personally identifiable information about students. The app is designed so that no student PII ever enters the system.

How we use your data

• Lesson text and files are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate scaffolds. They are not stored after generation.
• Student writing samples submitted for diagnostic analysis are sent to our AI provider and are not stored after the analysis is returned.
• Your email is used only for authentication and account recovery.

Third-party services

• Anthropic (Claude) — processes lesson text and student writing for scaffold and diagnostic generation.
• OpenAI (Whisper) — transcribes audio recordings for oral diagnostics.
• Railway — hosts the backend API server.
• Vercel — hosts the web application.
• RevenueCat — manages subscriptions (if you upgrade to Pro).

Data retention

Scaffold results are cached server-side for up to 30 days to improve response speed for repeated inputs. Cached data contains only the generated scaffold content, not the original input. You can request deletion of your account and any associated data at any time by contacting us.
